Julien Louvier Legrand
Julien Louvier Legrand develops a visual language that blends complex digital compositions with experimental photography, creating a space where narrative depth and social engagement intersect. From childhood, he was immersed in eclectic artistic influences ranging from René Magritte to Robert Doisneau, and Enki Bilal to Charlélie Couture and graffiti artist Mod 2. His creative process is underpinned by rigorous technical skills gained through a six-year course in graphic design and visual communication, as well as professional experience in agencies that refined his understanding of visual perception.
In his work, Julien utilizes the full potential of digital tools while strictly adhering to the European Charter and guidelines regarding generative AI. He balances this with a handcrafted dimension through traditional collage and montage. His photography combines realistic capture with experimental deconstruction; using a minimalist smartphone approach, he captures urban landscapes that often undergo radical post-production processing, including chromatic overlays, motion blur, digital cropping, and light painting.
As a person with a physical disability, Julien advocates for an inclusive practice, transforming his condition into a creative lever to raise awareness about diversity issues. He is equally committed to sustainability, prioritizing eco-friendly printing materials and aiming for complete energy self-sufficiency for his creative tools. Open to collaborative projects and performances, he plans to dedicate a portion of his income to social, environmental, and animal welfare causes.
"To subtly listen to the image, to watch the sound without restraint, to touch the silence with the tips of our eyes, to drink in the horizon with delight when the journey carries us. And together, to seize the moment, the suspended moment..."
