She is a widow, and her younger son, Roman, resides with her in Olshanka. Recently, while tending to the garden, Tamara accidentally injured her eye with a branch. Although the injury wasn't severe, the absence of a nearby hospital and the unavailability of a required specialist in the district hospital resulted in Tamara losing her eye.
