Marco Bravura was born in 1949 in Ravenna, Italy, a city world-renowned for its ancient Byzantine mosaics. He began his artistic education at the Gino Severini State Institute of Art for Mosaic in Ravenna before completing his training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. After living and working in Venice for several years and traveling extensively across the globe, Bravura returned to his hometown in 1987 to open his own mosaic studio.

Rooted in Ravenna's historic genius loci, Bravura revitalizes traditional mosaic techniques by embedding them into contemporary forms, sculptures, and installations. His work seamlessly bridges classical craftsmanship with modern artistic expression. Throughout his career, he has led impactful international projects, including supervising the creation of a mosaic institute in Beirut, Lebanon, and spending over a decade living and creating in Tarusa, Russia, where he developed major monumental pieces.

Bravura's artwork has been featured in prestigious international showcases, including the 2011 Venice Biennale and the 4th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art. Today, his pieces are held in public institutions, museums, and private collections across Europe, Russia, and the United States.
