In February 1999, I took a 15-day trip to Crete, masterfully organized by my mother.

We had rented a car, which allowed us, starting from Heraklion, to go around Crete along the shore, to crisscross the inland hills covered with olive trees and to visit a few monasteries.

At that time of year, few tourists were around.

I had brought my outdoor easel, and I set it up in different places to immortalize the landscapes we encountered.

The almond trees were already in bloom in February, in the valleys, filling the air with their fragrance. Their white color, tinged with pink, stood out against the surrounding landscape. Nature has a gift for dazzling me.
