Fabienne BlancTree and Two Men at Sunset, 2023 ·
(from the “Aquarelles” series)
Paper, watercolor · 33 × 43 cm · France

A free interpretation of an 18th-century painting. Two men on a steep path watch the sunset. An old, gnarled tree stretches its branches at the edge of a precipice. I played with red and pink tones, using the complementary green for the ground and the foliage of the trees.
