Artist about this artworkA place of passage and convergence of civilizations since antiquity, a place of piracy and drama, a place of legends, the Mediterranean remains a womb for all those who live around it. There's no sun-drenched landscape, no umbrella pine, no rock in the foreground. Here we are beneath the surface, to capture the light that bathes these shallow seabeds. A few red mullet play in the glare of a ray of sunlight, jellyfish swim by, and other creatures hide in the crevices. We remain, gazing as long as we can breathe.
