Artist about this artworkThe title relies on an ambiguity specific to French: the word "pas" designates both a footprint, so here it would mean "we walked in the snow," as in Tintin's "we walked on the Moon," but also a negative, which here would mean "it's not in the snow," as Magritte painted a picture of a pipe, which he titled "ceci n'est pas une pipe," to the delight of practitioners of General Semantics.
Note that here, if it's snow, it's rather dirty, say bloody. But it could be "tutti frutti"-flavored popsicles, much consumed during this heatwave.
