Artist about this artworkAn old Berber man with a weather-beaten face and a deep gaze. He works the land, builds his house with his own hands, and possesses the wisdom of those who have faced life’s many hardships. In 1992, I went on an 8-day spring trek with 'Terre d’Aventure' in the High Atlas, starting from Marrakech. Those were unforgettable moments. We passed through Berber villages and met men and children. We slept in tents and washed in the river we followed at times. I wanted to paint this man, this child, and a village, based on my photographs.
