Artist about this artwork North Ossetia and South Ossetia are two small republics in the Caucasus. North Ossetia was made famous by the tragedy in Beslan, where a Chechen group attacked and took hostage an entire elementary school in 2004, mainly children. The Russians stormed the town, and the Chechens detonated their bombs. It was a real massacre (300 dead, if I remember correctly). The surviving children were taken into care in Switzerland for a few months to overcome the trauma, thanks to private donors. Thanks to the Swiss fraternity. A Swiss television program reports on their stay ("Present Time - Three Months to Forget Beslan").
